Dancougar Remake

There is a new anime robot remake. Starting February 15, 2007, The anime remake of Dancougar, a 80's robot anime, will be shown in Japan.

Personally, I wanna cry "Where did it go wrong?" after seeing the cast. It seems that anime today is full of bishies and bishoujos and teen angst.

Manga Download Thru IRC Tutorial

Manga downloads can be iffy. Specially with so many distribution methods out there. From direct http downloads to bittorrent to IRC. Though anyone can choose how they can download their manga, such is not the case regarding the scanlators and scanlation groups.

However, the most popular and prevalent way of downloading manga is through IRC. But many people still don't know how to use IRC to download manga. Even though there are a lot of IRC tutorial on the net, most of them are long and hard to remember.

Fortunately, I found probably the easiest IRC tutorial on the net regarding downloading manga. The IRC tutorial is provided by Shoujo Magic. You can read the IRC tutorial here.

OtakuGamer Recommended Manga: Yuria Hyaku Shiki

Me, the OtakuGamer, likes manga, anime and games. And I found a very good manga that I'm sure everyone will enjoy. The manga that I found is titled: Yuria Hyaku Shiki, otherwise known as Yuria Type 100.

Yuria Hyaku Shiki is the story of Yuria who is a custom-made andriod, designed for sexual purposes. However, she escaped because she didn't like being a Dutch Wife (sex slave) and a good man Shunsuke has taken care of her. However, her programming always makes her do very crazy sexual things. It is really funny!

Though there are some inconsistencies with the drawings, the manga is extremely funny and enjoyable to read. So, OtakuGamer recommends this manga, Yuria Hyaku Shiki!

November 11 Is The National Pocky Day

Did you know that November 11 is the National Pocky Day in Japan? The National Pocky Day was first held on November 11, 1999, which was the 11th year of the Heisei era, which in turn resembles six sticks of Pocky.

Anyway, for your eyes, here's a commercial of Pocky with the idol Yui Aragaki. Me like Yui, she's so funny.

Otaku And Toys And Doujinshi

Japan Today (well its not that the article is today though) has posted a very nice article about toys and otaku and doujinshi in Japan. The article mainly focuses otakus and their toys, and the strategy of toy makers in Japan. However, the article also talked about female interest in doujinshi.

I Want To Be A Game Journalist!

One of my dreams were just to report about games, and also playing games all day long. That was when I knew that I want to be a gaming journalist. But, well, the world is against me and I haven't realized my dream. I am still an otakugamer that spends a lot of time playing games and watching anime.

I know that I still suck hard at writing news or writing articles. But this is one of my dreams, so cut me some slack, will you?

Anyway, Kieron Gillen’s Workblog has posted a very nice article about video game journalism and how to be a game journalist. Reading this article helps a lot. From now on I'll try Gillen's tips about how to become a games journalist. But then again, I would have no more time for video games and anime.

Aw, to hell with it. Let me just play some games.

Gundam Unicorn!

One of my favorite sites, Dannychoo.com, has a pic of the upcoming novel, Gundam Unicorn. The design is by Katoki Hajime, famous designer of Virtual On, Wing Gundam Endless Waltz, V Gundam and many others.

Here is the pic:

The author of the upcoming Gundam Unicorn is Harutoshi Fukui. This is one of the best combinations in Gundam. I expect this to be good.

Can you say Horny Gundam?
